ASUU STRIKE: UNIVERSITIES MAY RE-OPEN SOON

Let's take a sigh of relief as recent developments shows that efforts are been made to resolve the ongoing strike action by ASUU as  the President on Monday, November 4, meet with the leadership of ASUU.

According to Scan news reports, an official at the Presidential Villa stated that the Vice President and the Supervising Minister for Education are have striving to resolve the strike, but at this moment will involve the president, so as to show commitment of the FG.

A source at the presidential villa noted that if ASUU fails to call off the strike, the FG is left with no other option than to compulsorily open the universities, with the help of the governing councils and school managements.

Already, most of the governing councils of the universities have started meeting to work out modalties for the compulsory re-opening of the universities should ASUU fails to honor the personal request of President Jonathan.
