10 Reasons he will marry you

Most men, who are willing to get married, just want a happy and easy-going woman who has good values. Want a marriage proposal fast? Then embrace these tips
1. You are not bossy
When a man first meets you, and thinks your character trait is OK, he starts to feel he should propose and walk down the aisle with you. However, once he starts to feel like he is in grammar school being told what to do by his teacher, he will take a walk.
2. Don’t play games with his heart
Never ever think that being a game player will help you get a man. Though he might be intrigued by a hard-to-get lady in the beginning, as soon as he decides that he is interested in her, all he wants is an honest straight-shooter. Continue.....

How ex-ASUU boss, Iyayi, died – Doctor

The Sole Administrator of Specialist Hospital in Lokoja, Kogi Sttae, Dr. Paul Amodu, has revealed how former president of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU)  and activist, Prof. Festus Iyayi, died in a road accident involving the convoy of Governor Wada Idris.
The ex-union leader died at about noon on Tuesday along Banda village about 10 kilometres from Lokoja, the state capital, when he was going to attend ASUU National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Kano which was meant to resolve the  ASUU strike.
Amodu said he was briefed by one Dr. Idoko, who he attached to the governor’s convoy. according to him, the rear vehicle of the convoy rammed the bus in which Iyayi was travelling in as the bus tried to avoid a pot hole on the highway
In his words: “The accident occurred when the ASUU bus conveying Prof. Iyayi and one Dr. Ngozi Ilo was trying to dodge a pot hole on the highway when the rear vehicle in the governor’s convoy suddenly collided with them
“The vehicle collided with the side which the professor was sitting and something pierced straight through his heart, and he strapped on the seat motionless with a copy of a national newspaper in his hand
“Beside his seat was a pair of Novas an anti-hypertensive drug which suggests that he might have been hypertensive. However, the woman sitting in the front of the vehicle (Dr Ngozi Ilo) only had part of her right hand flesh slightly chopped off, no fracture in the hand as alleged
“When she was rushed here, we later discovered she had a little cut in the leg and a fracture in the tipia bone (upper part of the leg), she was treated by a consultant, Dr Chizoba Osita Nwokese and had been discharged
“I believe that what will be will be. Although he must have been hypertensive, but he died due to an object, which penetrated straight through his heart,” Dr. Amodu said.
Meanwhile, Iyayi’s corpse was claimed at the specialist hospital by his immediate younger brother, Peter Iyayi, who is a lecturer at the Federal University in Lokoja
The younger Iyayi came in company of some ASUU officials including the branch chairman of Ambrose Alli University in Ekpoma, Edo State, who left with the body at about 12 noon yesterday.

COSSY: INSURES BOOBS FOR N256MILLION

Nollywood actress, Cossy Orjiakor who has gained a sensational sex identity is currently a happy woman as she is set to hit another gold mine with her endowment.
The actress was reported to have agreed to a deal to insure her bloated mammary glands for a whooping $1.6million amounting to N256million.
The deal according to source, was introduced to her by an American friend who also dragged Enhanced Silicon Inc. responsible for insuring breasts of famous foreign celebrities into the deal. The company, which  insured the bosóms of Pamela Anderson and Dolly Parton agreed to the deal just before Cossy’s recent birthday bash, where she displayed her endowments for the world to see. The booby actress will be travelling  to Los Angeles in two weeks to sign on the dotted lines. “I specifically asked for $1.6 million,” Cossy was quoted as saying.

As part of the deal awaiting her signature, there will be limits on how many men and women who would touch her bósoms each month. Also, the bósoms have all been given names and must now be treated as people in future movie roles. That means that Enhanced Silicon Inc. will determine how much a movie producer will pay each bosóm for an appearance in a movie. “The downside of the deal is that I may get dressed’, Cossy added.
Cossy seems pretty excited about the deal as sources maintained that each of the endowment will be named and anyone who prefers to touch will have to pay for it just as Enhanced Silicon Inc. will henceforth, decide the amount producers will pay per breast, for appearance in a movie.

ASUU/IYAYI: NEC MEETING POSTPONED INDEFINITELY BY ASUU

LEADERS of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, yesterday, suspended indefinitely the union’s National Executive Council, NEC, meeting planned to hold in Kano over the tragic auto-crash that claimed the life of ASUU former President, Professor Festus Iyayi, on Tuesday morning.
Thousands of students who had kept vigil, waiting for the outcome of ASUU NEC meeting, therefore went home disappointed following the announcement of the suspension of the meeting.
The accident which involved the convoy of Governor Idris Wada of Kogi State on Lokoja-Abuja Road also left two other officials of ASUU – Dr. Ngozi Ilo, National Welfare Officer, University of Benin, UNIBEN; branch chairman, Dr. Anthony Emina, and their driver, critically injured.
President of ASUU, Dr. Nasir Fagge, who announced the suspension of the NEC meeting in Kano, explained that the union had to suspend the meeting following the sudden and tragic death of Professor Festus Iyayi.
The NEC meeting was widely expected to make a decisive statement on the five-month old ASUU strike that has crippled academic activities in the public university system.
At a briefing, Fagge told reporters in Kano that “we are compelled to postpone this meeting in the light of the sudden death of one of our strongest pillars who died yesterday (Tuesday).
“As you can see for yourself, we are mourning the departure of this great scholar and you would agree with me that in this circumstance we cannot look at issues objectively.”
The ASUU President who looked visibly shocked by the unfortunate development, described Iyayi “as a strong pillar of the union,’ stressing that “this is a great loss to the entire country.”
Over 50 universities were represented at the botched Kano NEC meeting which was to deliberate on the outcome of the branch meetings held recently that was key to the decision on suspension of the strike.
No new date has been fixed for the NEC meeting.
However, labour watchers are of the opinion that ASUU may not reschedule the NEC meeting until after the burial of the late professor.
Thousands of students that had kept vigil waiting for the outcome went home disappointed following the announcement of the suspension of the NEC meeting.
A student who spoke with Vanguard on condition of anonymity, said, “this is a clear indication that we have more days to spend at home because the figure that passed on was an icon and a respected voice.”
He expressed disappointment that the Federal Government had not arrested those that caused the fatal accident, stressing that “the only thing that can cool frayed nerves is to put on trial all those that played infamous roles in the accident.”
Meantime, more Nigerians have continued to mourn late Professor Festus Iyayi, former President of ASUU, who died Tuesday.
Reacting to the unfortunate incident, Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State, Minister of Labour and Productivity, Chief Emeka Wogu, Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, and Joint Action Front, JAF, among others, described him as a true and committed Nigerian who gave up his personal comfort and joined the masses in the trenches in the fight for a better society.
Oshiomhole speaks
Governor Oshiomhole in a condolence message through his Chief Press Secretary, CPS, Mr. Peter Okhiria, said: “Iyayi was a distinguished Nigerian who served not only ASUU, but the whole Nigerian academic community. He had a passion for education and I am proud that he came from Edo State. I found him so resourceful that I appointed him a member of the Governing Council of the Ambrose Alli University.
On its part, NLC in a statement by its President, Abdulwaheed Omar, blamed his death on “federal government’s act of criminal negligence on the one hand and executive lawlessness/impunity on the part of the Kogi State Governor who is fast acquiring for himself an accident-prone reputation.”
On his part, Chief Emeka Wogu, who described his death as shocking and a colossal loss to the trade union movement in Nigeria, lamented Iyayi died at a time when his struggle for improving the standards of education in Nigeria was about yielding positive results in the country.
His words: “I received with shock the sudden death of the former President of ASUU, Professor Festus Iyayi in a fatal motor accident on Lokoja Abuja Expressway. I share in the pains and identify with ASUU and the family of the deceased in this moment of grief.”
JAF, in a statement by its Secretary, Abiodun Aremu, while describing his death as a monumental tragedy inflicted on the working and oppressed people in Nigeria, said: “Indeed, this is a tragic loss for Comrade Professor Festus Iyayi to have been wasted by the Kogi State Governor’s reckless convoy on November 12, 2013.”
Also, Bamidele Aturu, Lagos lawyer and human rights activist, said Africa and indeed, the “world, has lost one of the most passionate believers in social justice and equity. He was one of the most honest and dependable ally. We have lost a dogged advocate of decency and consummate teacher. It is indeed an irony that a man who spent his entire life campaigning against impunity should be murdered so recklessly.
Iyayi’s death regrettable — Amosun
Ogun State governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, also expressed profound shock and regret at the death of former President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, Prof. Festus Iyayi who died at the age of 66.
The governor condoled with the government and people of Edo State, ASUU and the academic community over the death of the late lecturer, writer and dogged fighter for academic and social reforms.
In a press release by his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Mrs. Funmi Wakama, Amosun recalled the late professor’s struggle in the education sector as ASUU president in1986 which led to his incarceration in1988, describing his death as unfortunate.
He said: “The late professor profoundly influenced progressive policies in the nation’s education sector and he will forever be remembered for his selfless service towards resolving the on-going ASUU/government face off. Indeed, the country has lost another brilliant mind and true patriot.

How we secured good jobs — Third class graduates

Most employers have shut their doors against graduates with third class degrees;  but the story of Adeoye Adekola, a tailor and a third class degree holder, is quite different, MOTUNRAYO ABODERIN write
Are you a third class degree holder and think you will never become a success in life again? Perhaps, the story of Mr. Adeoye Adekoya, a tailor and a third class graduate of Economics from the University of Ado-Ekiti, (now Ekiti State University) could stir you out of your state of despondency.
Born on April 4, 1979, the Sagamu, Ogun State indigene is not just a Dealer Sales Specialist with a fast-rising telecommunications company, he is an author and an accomplished motivational speaker.
Adekoya said he never thought he could get this far in life due to his unenviable performance in the university.  “But I discovered my inner abilities and strengths when I was in life’s lowest ebb,’’ Adekoya disclosed to THE Punch in Lagos on Thursday.
Narrating his life story, Adekoya said, “My teenage years were very eventful, I’m naturally very adventurous. I attended Ijebu-Ode Grammar School and later St. Finbar’s College, Akoka, Lagos. I was involved in almost everything. I played soccer for my street, in fact I was very good that sometimes our coach then would have to go over to my mum’s school to plead with her so she could allow me play at tournaments because they didn’t have a better replacement for me.
“I had five credits in the West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination. I got admission to the University of Ado-Ekiti to study Economics. But I was carried away with the luxuries of life. I spent most of my time partying and having fun. Education became my second priority. If I had known the consequence of my wrong decision, I would have done things differently,’’ he explained.
Adekoya said that his frivolous lifestyle and youthful exuberance in the university made him come out with a third class degree.
“In my case, I passed through the university, but the university didn’t pass through me,” he said.
His life after university became much worse as he became depressed and addicted to drinking and smoking. In his words, the bottle became his best friend.
“I was depressed and got hooked to the naughty lifestyle. I was drinking and smoking heavily.  I also did many other naughty things. I was regular at most of the pubs (beer parlours) in my neighbourhood. I was also a regular at the African Shrine.  I was very discouraged and was practically hopeless. Eventually I decided to leave Nigeria, but I was refused the entry visa to the United Kingdom three times. I also won the American Visa Lottery and was refused a visa,’’ he added.
One morning, he woke up and realised that he had wasted most of his life.
“On this particular day, after leaving the pub, I got into my room; I broke down and started sobbing. I remember saying  God, I’m tired of this type of lifestyle, I’m tired of drinking, smoking and trying to rule my life by myself . I need you to come and take control of my life. And since that fateful morning, my life hasn’t been the same again.
“I realised that for my life to change I had to change my mindset, so I started taking step to feed my mind with positive information. I enrolled for leadership training at an academy, I started reading more inspirational books and listening to inspirational audiotapes. I had people who had positive lifestyles as my role models. I changed my association.
“I was no longer frequent at those odd places any more; I was now very frequent in places where positive information was being shared. All these helped me a lot to purge my mind of the depressing thoughts. I began to discover   my real self, I began to discover and deploy my leadership potentials. So I began to respond to the challenges before me, instead of reacting to them. My life literarily made turn for good since then,” he said.
So at what point did he become a tailor? Adekoya said the reality of his third class degree and its impact on his academic pursuit and career advancement dawned on him during his service year in Ebonyi State.
“I thought of what to do with my life after service because nobody would give a third class graduate job and decided to learn tailoring, which I know I have passion for.
“But rather than call myself a tailor, I preferred to be identified as a Fashion Solutions Provider,” he said.
Though his parents were supportive, some people mocked him. “But I didn’t care about those who mocked me because I had my eyes fixed on the bigger picture ahead,’’ he disclosed.
Speaking on how he found himself in the telecommunications industry, Adekoya said, “There was an opening in the organisation and I applied for the job.  I was called up for the interview, which happened to be my first ever interview after graduation. I went for the interview and I remembered that the interviewers were very impressed with the way I answered two of their questions. They asked what I did for a living as at that time, and I told them that I was a Fashion Solutions Provider. The second question matched a scenario in one of the books I was reading so I just downloaded the principle I discovered in the book to them, which gave me the job.”
Adekoya’s story is just one in a few cases. There is also Mr. Abiola Onabule who finished with a third-class degree, but works with one of the top Information and Communications firms in the country.
Employers claim third class degree certificates are very easy to filter out, as it is the perfect excuse to get rid of a reasonably sized number of applicants without needing to read the CV.
However, they said the value placed on degree classification is slowly giving way to experience and skills.
Recently, our correspondent received a Blackberry message that read “Graduates needed at one of the top banks. 2:1 and 3rd class graduates should apply”.
However, the Human Resource Officer, Estymol Oil Services, Lagos, Miss Mary-Anne Omobomi, said Adekoya’s success story was rare and that the least class of degree that the company could employ was a second class upper.
She said, “It is true that when you are looking into the multi-national database, majority of the members of staff are first class or second class upper graduates. If you find people who are below 2.1 qualifications, they must have come in through someone they know in top management.
“There is a change in focus because the competition between companies is stepping up every day. Everyone wants quality output and professionalism. Knowledge and innovation, they say, are the keys to success and companies are striving to become multi-national companies with a reputable calibre of employees. The idea behind bringing in first class and 2.1 degree- holders is to recruit well-learned people. I conducted a research and found out that it was the system or procedure that was obtained abroad and the Nigerian employers have sustained it,” she said.
For Miss Ebunoluwa Oyatogun, an employee in one of the new generation banks in Akure, her 2:1 degree secured her employment with the bank.
“I give God thanks for making me finish with a 2:1. If I had finished with anything lower, I doubt if the bank would have employed me. Even those with a 2:2 and third class were not employed,” she said.
Reacting to the issue of companies employing graduates with either a first class or second class upper degree, Mr. Oke Adewale, a graduate, said, “Our education will remain in shambles and destruction if 2:1 is the desirable grade for employment; besides, armed robber will champion the cause of justice. Eighty-five per cent of Nigerian graduates will remain beggars.”
Another graduate, Mr. Adetuga Marcus, said, “The assumption that 2:1 is the best qualification for graduates is absolutely wrong and unjustifiable. Our university system is so corrupt that students seek illegal ways to scale through the university. Results are not on merit principle. My advice is that all graduate job seekers should be subjected to the same quality and ability test irrespective of their classes of degree.”
For Mr. Marcus Kamai, “Using 2:1 to sift candidates for employment is not a ridiculous approach. The truth is that in most cases, 2:1 graduates must have worked a bit harder in the university to earn a 2:1 compared to other grades lower in the ranking. Most employers who  are disappointed with the performance of  2:1  graduates are likely to be more disappointed with the performance of graduates with second class lower or third class.’’

Press Release From Mavin Record on Wande Coal

We are all aware of the rift between Wande Coal and Don Jazzy on twitter on the ownership of the song BABY FACE...... Here is the Press Release from Mavin Records......
Press Release:
It is with deep regret that we officially announce the departure of recording artist Wande Ojosipe, popularly known as Wande Coal, from Mavin Records due to irreconcilable differences.
Over the past few months, Mavin Records has made a concerted move to consolidate its position in the Nigerian music industry. Mavin has pursued a renewed ethos to raise its standards of quality and professionalism to a world-class level. Wande’s vision has not aligned with ours and a few months ago all parties mutually agreed that a separation would be the best course of action.
Legal parties on both sides have spent the past six months trying to reach an amicable solution in terms of musical property rights. However the decision by Wande Coal to release BABY FACE purportedly as his own material is a direct breach of intellectual property law and compelled an immediate clarification on our part.
Both Mavin Records and Wande Coal have enjoyed a remarkable run in the course of their working relationship. It is unfortunate that conflicting priorities contributed to the premature curtailment of a hitherto fruitful accord.
Mavin Records reaffirms its goal to constantly provide high quality music to our fans and introduce new and exciting talent into the industry.
We wish Wande Coal the best of luck in all his future endeavours.

ODUAH UPDATE: REPS' PANEL INDICTS ODUAH, NCAA

There were indications on Wednesday that the House of Representatives Committee on Aviation had established some infractions against the Minister of Aviation, Ms Stella Oduah, and the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority.
The committee is investigating the controversial purchase of two bulletproof BMW cars by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority allegedly for Oduah at a whopping N255m.
However, she testified before the committee, which is chaired by Mrs. Nkiruka Onyejeocha, and denied that the cars were bought for her use.
The panel  ended  its public hearing on the transaction on Monday.
Oduah was expected to appear before   the Senate    on Wednesday but could  not because of the Federal Executive Council meeting.
Findings by The PUNCH indicated that  the Onyejeocha –led committee  might  lay its  report before the House on Thursday (today).
It was gathered that after deliberating on records before them, members of the panel had established some infractions against the minister and the NCAA.
Sources close to the committee confided in The PUNCH that “at least four issues are no longer disputable.”
According to findings, one of the issues is “extra-budgetary spending”, while the second is “approval beyond ministerial limit.”
It was learnt that the committee also established a case of “violation of public procurement procedures.”
Similarly, the panel confirmed that “indeed, N255m was spent to buy two bulletproof BMW cars and the use of waivers meant for EKO Games to import the cars.”
One of the sources told one of our correspondents  that the committee tried to remain focused on its core mandate and not to veer off into other allegations that might have been levelled against the Ministry of Aviation.
The source  said,  “Some infractions have been established, no doubt.
“The recommendations of the committee will follow glaring issues that came up during the public hearing.
“For example, it has been established that while the National Assembly approved N240m for the NCAA to buy 25 vehicles this year, it spent over N643m to procure 54 vehicles.
“That is a case of extra-budgetary spending.
“We have heard the minister admitting that she acted on a proposal for lease financing of N564m.
“Whether she was not properly guided as she told the committee or not, what is clear is that the figure is above the N100m that a ministerial board can approve.
“What role did the Bureau of Public Procurement play in this transaction? No role at all; another infraction.
“The BPP came here to testify and they told us that there was no communication between them and the NCAA over the transaction.”
A  member of the committee, Mr. Zakari Mohammed, confirmed that  the report could be laid on Thursday(today).
“The report should be laid in plenary tomorrow (today). We are presenting it,” he stated.
Oduah however did not appear before the Senate on Wednesday as she sought a last-minute permission to attend the weekly FEC  meeting.
Oduah had been summoned by the Senate to explain her roles in the October 3 plane crash in Lagos and her role in the purchase of the controversial bulletproof cars.
A source told one of our correspondents in Abuja  that the minister   sent “a last-minute letter to the Senate leadership on Tuesday evening, requesting another date because she needed  tto attend the FEC meeting”
Our correspondent learnt that Oduah’s request was granted but was directed to  appear  on Thursday(today).
Immediately after the FEC meeting, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation,  Anyim  Pius Anyim,   whisked the embattled minister  off from the Presidential Villa.
Sensing that State House correspondents might be waiting to engage her on the car scandal, he quickly engaged her in a discussion as they  walked   to where  the SGF parked his  Sport Utility Vehicle .
From, there    both of them were driven away through the Service Chiefs Gate.
Meanwhile, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has interrogated five  top officials of the NCAA  over the  N255m car scandal.
A top official of the commission, who made this known, said the NCAA chiefs   arrived at the commission’s office in Abuja at 2pm.
It was learnt that they were asked to write statements on their involvement in the scandal and thereafter asked  a few questions.
The source, who did not want his name in print,  said that the NCAA chiefs were allowed to go  at about 4pm.
He  said the commission would also  look into some transactions by    the Federal Aviation Authority of Nigeria.
The source said, “The commission interrogated a team from Coscharis Motors on Tuesday. We have quizzed five top officials of the NCAA.
“The commission is not stopping with the NCAA, our investigators will also interrogate some officials of FAAN.”
When contacted,  the Head of Media of the EFCC, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed that the EFCC would also interrogate  officials of some of the agencies in the aviation sector.
